Three Easy Recipes to Enjoy Apples This Fall

By Arianna Larson September 21, 2025

So, you've visited the apple orchard, or in this case, have a really good friend bring you apples from her trees. And you’re are fresh (see what I did there?!) out of ideas on what to do with all them apples? Sure, you could freeze them, make applesauce, or the ever popular apple crisp. Orrrrr you could try these three easy recipes for something new!

Apple Granola

The delicious smell of apples and granola baking is a sure fire way to get my kiddos into the kitchen. They love Apple Granola! Try this for a quick and nutritious lunch!

You will need:

  • 4 large apples
  • Cinnamon
  • About 2 cups granola
  • Honey, peanut butter, optional

Start by preheating the oven to 400 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Core the apple - I choose to cut my apple off the core, so I can cut thin slices of apple for easier / quicker cooking.

Line the sliced apples on the baking sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Top with ready made granola - we use the organic version from Aldi with shredded coconut, so tasty! Any granola will work though!

Bake for about 12 minutes or until apple slices can be pierced with a fork. You can top with honey for a touch of sweetness or peanut butter for an added protein kick!

Apple Nachos

This is another super quick and easy recipe to whip up when you want both sweet and salty!

Start by coring the apple and slice into "apple rings", or circular apple slices.

Arrange them in a pile on a plate - as if it were chips for nachos. Not quite as tasty, but hey!

Next, drizzle, or cover with peanut butter. Lastly, top with raisins. Enjoy!

Apples with "Caramel" Sauce

This isn't my recipe, rather one I just like to use when I want something sweet but still on the healthy side!

  • 1 cup dates, pitted
  • ½ cup coconut milk, canned (Or any unsweetened plant-based milk will work)
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch sea salt

Start by soaking the dates for 15-20 minutes in warm water, then drain. Add the dates, milk of choice, vanilla, and salt into a blender or food processor and blend until creamy. You'll likely need to scrape down the sides a few times.

Serve alone with apple slices! Elevate your tasting experience by including dark chocolate chips, peanuts, mini marshmallows, etc. Anything you might find on a caramel apple, just without the mess or awkward to eat vibe.
